Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I go to therapy?

Therapy can provide a non-biased and safe space to talk about your feelings with a therapist and work through any conflicts that may be affecting you.

Therapy is beneficial for almost everyone. Here are some examples of why people engage in therapy:

  • Personal Growth

  • Feeling discontent or stuck

  • Anxiety, depression, or anger

  • Major life events

  • Grief and loss

  • Traumatic experiences

How does talking about my feelings help me?

Discussing personal issues with a therapist is a healthy way to gain insight into conflicts and manage emotions.

I'm nervous about starting therapy, is that normal?

Feeling nervous about starting therapy is perfectly normal. It can be intimidating to share your intimate feelings with a stranger. Please remember that therapy sessions are confidential, and you have the option to stop at any time.

Will therapy change who I am?

The goal of therapy is to help you become a healthier version of yourself by learning how to manage troubling behaviors, thoughts, or feelings, empowering you to take control of your life.

What happens during the initial session?

During the initial session, I will spend time getting to know you and understanding your individual needs. We will discuss what brings you to therapy, and together, we will determine the best way to proceed.

What is the length of therapy?

Individual sessions typically last 50 minutes, and the frequency of sessions varies from person to person. The duration and frequency of therapy sessions are determined by my professional recommendation and in collaboration with each individual patient. We can discuss this further during our sessions.

Do you offer teletherapy? If so, how does it work?

Yes, I offer teletherapy. I use TherapyNotes Telehealth, a HIPAA-compliant video platform that allows us to meet remotely. You can access the platform from any device with a camera, microphone, compatible web browser, and internet access.
